NEXT ZONE is a company working with OPEN -STYLE DANCE based in Denmark. Choreographer Lene Boel works with dancers from different street dance backgrounds such as popping, locking, electro, break dance, hip hop as well as artists from new circus. Yet still she is creating a distinct choreographic language which is very visceral and unique for each production. The pieces challenge the language of the human body and what it can express through very articulated and highly physical dance. Dealing with contemporary themes interlacing with the past, present and future the performances communicate to audience of all ages through non-verbal movement, original music and sustainable, atmospheric light. NEXT ZONE produces performances for theatre and spaces of all sizes. The performances are suited for audience of all ages from 8 years -100 +.
NEXT ZONE has toured in Japan,Germany, Mexico, France, Canada, The Nordic Countries and Greenland to festivals such as Suresnes Cities Danse, Düsseldorf Festival, Festival Culturel de Mayo/ Mexico, Waves festival, Les Boreales , Festival Karavel and is now looking to expand into new territories.
NEXT ZONEs artistic director and choreographer Lene Boel is looking to connect with venues, festivals, residency spaces and potential coproduction partners all over the world.
