Visual arts
What we do internationally
We work to support, promote, and develop the profile of Danish Visual Arts internationally by supporting the presence and involvement of Danish art at international visual art events and projects.
We organise research and visitors programmes for artists and art professionals in Denmark and abroad. We also commission the Danish Pavilion at the Venice Biennale.
Funding programmes
The Danish Arts Foundation's Committee for Visual Arts runs a number of international funding programmes. These funding programmes are intended for artists, museums, exhibition spaces, and art professionals who promote Danish and international art in Denmark and Danish art internationally.
We fund the following areas:
- Curators, directors of art institutions, and other art professionals from abroad who apply for funding to carry out curatorial research in Denmark.
- Grants for Danish artists and curators’ travel, accommodation, and transport of works in relation to the exhibition of Danish contemporary art outside of Denmark.
- Grants for artistic production and exhibitions of contemporary art in Denmark and abroad.
- Danish galleries who wish to participate at international art fairs.
