For over three decades, Kitt Johnson has meticulously crafted her own artistic realm as an artistic director, choreographer, and performer.
From the very beginning her oeuvre has included works for stage as well as for unconventional sites. Since 2008 the site- and community-specific concept MELLEMRUM has captivated audiences across 19 countries with 28 successful editions... and the journey continues!
MELLEMRUM invites participants on a carefully designed walk in a specific area that involves a series of performances/interactions created by 3-5 artists – always in close dialogue with the specific locality and community. Each edition is curated in a collaboration between a local partner and Kitt Johnson.
While MELLEMRUM originated in urban settings, it has organically expanded into nature in recent years.
INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATIONS
We welcome future partnerships with international festivals and venues to create new editions of MELLEMRUM.
In addition, Kitt offers physical classes/masterclasses/lectures, arts consultancy services and facilitates creative processes in labs and workshops. Exciting upcoming events include a Solo Creation Lab in Copenhagen in fall 2024.
As we strive to uphold a sustainable praxis, we also always offer a process/format of this sort to accompany a MELLEMRUM.
